1. How much does it cost to play in the CMSL and what do we get for our Team Fee?
The CMSL charges its teams $2500 for the 2023 season. This covers the cost of playing ~22 games (Regular Season) plus Playoffs (if teams qualify) on the diamonds at Optimist Athletic Park, Umpires (CSUA) and equipment (Scorebook and Mens and Ladies balls).
2. What nights of ball do you offer?
The CMSL has 3 Divisions: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Ranging from our most competitive night (Mondays) to our least competitive night (Thursdays).
3. I am interested in entering a team in the CMSL. How do I start?
Please click on the tab at the top of our website labelled "Joining the CMSL". Click on Join as a team and fill out our form. Your team will then be placed in order on our waiting list and someone from our executive will be in contact with you on your status.
4. When do I know if there is space for my team?
Sometimes there are existing openings that are filled on a first come-first serve basis. If you are on the waitlist then someone from the League will reach out to you after our league meetings in February with details. The CMSL expects that its returning teams indicate their intentions for the coming year by the first meeting in early February, after which teams on the wait list will be contacted to fill vacancies.
5. Is there any way to sign up as a sub?
If you are looking to join the CMSL or any other leagues in the city, we recommend checking out the "Calgary Slopitch Subs" FACEBOOK page where you can find a lot of people looking for players to fill their teams. You can also post your own message there with any specifics that you are looking for in a league.
